“Good, Better, Best” 33 Quality, Engineering, Innovation and Performance” were determined to be important factors in establishing our retread specifications. Using industry terms, “Good, Better, Best” or “Tiers” was adopted as a major factor in our specifications. Best… Tier-I tires have a steel-bodied design to afford the maximum amount of safety and quality possible and is designed for a long service life and best suited for retreading. Better… Tier-II tires include many well know brands. Our experience is Tier-II casings are inconsistent candidates for retreading due to casing design would disqualify them as retreading candidates. Good… Tier-III. Our experience is Tier-III tire casings generally fail to meet stringent criteria for retreading. The cost savings is outweighed when the casing cannot be salvaged. Generally purchased only in an emergency.
